Riga, July 20, LETA. The festival “Kulakova Night”, which was planned on the Roja stage in August of this year, was postponed to August 21, 2021, the producer of the event Sandis Mohovikovs informed LETA.

The main event of the festival will be a concert performance “A true philosopher is not a pessimist”. In the first part of it, the cantata of Juris Kulakovs “Breast in Love” with poetry by Eduards Veidenbaums will be performed by Riga Technical University (RTU) men’s choir “Gaudeamus”, conductor Ivars Cinkus and the group “Pērkons”. It is with this composition that the choir “Gaudeamus” celebrates its 60th anniversary.

In the second part of the concert performance, the musical inspiration for Veidenbaum’s poetry will be offered by the group “Iron Wolf”, Jāzeps Mediņš Music High School rock group “Pirmais kurss” and Rezekne Theater “Joriks” actors, as well as the winners of three new group competitions. Versions of the legendary cycle “Seven and a Half Songs with the Words of Eduards Veidenbaums” sung by Ieva Akuratere, musicians’ own original compositions and songs from the Rezekne Theater “Joriks” performed by “Veidenbaums. poetry and music cabaret “.

“Kulakova night”, as usual, will end with the show “Thunder”. The legendary group will take the stage together with the instrumental ensemble of teachers of Roja Music and Art School.
