With Sting, the concerts are done with the family. Accompanied by his eldest Joe Sumner, in the first part, but also by another of his boys, guitarist, the English star generously shared his repertoire with a fervent Arena audience, Monday July 4, 2022.
In the opening, Joe Sumner is not a stranger, but he appears almost on tiptoe in the first part of his intimidating father, Sting. After having warmed up the Nîmes public for an hour, make way for the former Police singer with a solo career punctuated with international hits. And the English artist plays them to the delight of the Arena, which recognizes each success from the first chords: Englishman in New-York, Message in a Bottle, Every breathe you Take, Shape of my Heart, Redlight, Desert Rose, Roxanne... Between two sentences of presentation of his musicians and singers, Sting even launches into some successful covers of Steevy Wonder or Bob Marley. The disappointment can be read briefly on some faces when the singer leaves after only two songs of encores. But we can bet that this Arena regular will return.
