Yesterday evening, Soprano performed for the third time on the arena stage as part of the Nîmes festival. The Marseille rapper toured his repertoire by making the audience travel in space which left with stars in their eyes.

It was Clément Albertini who launched hostilities on the stage of the Roman amphitheater. The Corsican singer arrived in the finale of season 8 of The Voice in the Soprano team. Since then, he has been the opening act for the Marseille rapper. A performance to warm the public well before the appearance of the star of the evening for his third performance in the arenas of Nîmes after appearances in 2015 and 2019. To promote his next album “Star hunter”, which will be released on September 3, it is aboard a vessel that Saïd M’Roumbaba, by his real name, landed on stage.

A machine to take the audience into space with a crew made up of Zak and Diego, Soprano’s two brothers, as well as the Rossi brothers. Two musicians from Nîmes whose eldest Florian is Louane’s companion, present last night and who created emulation in the pit just before Soprano arrives on stage around 9:30 p.m. In this setting, it is logically with his last hit “Near the stars”, a cover of the group Gold, that the artist of Comorian origin began the concert before being “On fire” in front of fans already conquered.

Soprano communicated extensively with the spectators – there were around 6,500 last night – repeatedly repeating his joy at being able to commune with them again. If this was not the case at the start of this festival, the mask is now mandatory but the majority of the public did not wear it. Remember that it is necessary to present a negative test or a complete vaccination schedule to attend the concert. The Marseille rapper has imagined the health passport of the heart to make the public travel to Rio, Bel Air and Japan with the representation of a globe in the background.

The opportunity to interpret the songs: “Zoum”, “Fresh Prince” and “Ninja”. Before the pandemic, in October 2019, the artist released the title “To our everyday heroes”. A song that takes on even more meaning in the current context, which has become a hymn to pay tribute to all those particularly committed and mobilized in the face of the pandemic. After the applause, place to meditation. Thanks to smartphone torches, thousands of stars shone in the stands for the song “Roule” where Soprano pays tribute to his childhood friend Sya Styles, who died in 2015 from cancer. It was with him that he founded the group “Psy 4 de la rime” with Alonzo and Vincenzo. The latter made an appearance at the end of the concert.

The 42-year-old rapper does not forget the start of his career and the first titles they made him discover in 2007 with the album “Since we must live”. The “elders” were thus able to hum “A la bien” and “Halla Halla”. Soprano, an artist who has already become intergenerational. The children, many last night, wanted especially to let off steam on “The coach” and “Cosmo”, songs interpreted in final bouquet. Children who returned home with stars in their eyes at the end of this space trip with their idol.
