In recent decades, our way of life has changed beyond recognition, and the rapid development of technology has affected both planet Earth and human lifestyles and health. The aim of the focus programs is to stimulate discussions on the theme of the festival, as well as to give new curators and artists the opportunity to introduce the public to innovative aspects of the focus theme.
Jack Brindelli, a British journalist and film critic (Jack Brindelli) developed focus program Anthropocene era (April 10 at 8 pm) will look at the world, revealing the impact of human activity on the Earth’s ecosystem. Artist Linda Bolshakova will take a look at the society dominated by eco-sexuality and eco-feminism with a selection of her films Eco-sexes (April 10 at 11 p.m .; 18+). Focus program by director Astra Zoldner Apocalypse (April 13 at 9.30 pm) will make you think about the possibility that we are already living in the mood of the end of the world. Film director and viewer Julius Nuhum Kulibali will study the relationship between man and nature in a selection of Latvian short films Naturally (April 14 at 6 p.m.)
Festival program director Laima Graždanoviča has created a special retrospective focus program 2Annas25: Movement through time (April 9 at 6 pm), which, marking the 25th anniversary of the festival, will offer viewers short screenings of outstanding short films from previous years and introduce the focus programs of this year’s festival. Festival 2Annas April 9 at 20 movies will be released Delicate bodies: F. Persia Smith’s hidden world (2016) session and artist Sabīne Moores or The Waterflower performance and concert.

The focus of the 2021 festival Earth From January, a cycle of lectures and talks begins, which, through the prism of cinema, looks at current issues related to our planet.
