From 9 am, the Festi’ferme, avenue Marx-Dormoy, will highlight the cereal sector. After cattle and sheep, the FNSEA (national federation of farmers’ unions) and the competition committee of Montluçon wanted to talk about this important but often forgotten area. Consumed or processed products, cereals are indeed at the center of our diet, since they feed humans but also meat animals, especially poultry.
The feathered beasts will not be there on May 21, because of the resurgence of avian flu, but their breeders have responded. They will stand alongside other agricultural producers and breeders to discuss and make their trades known.
Festi’ferme is part of a logic of communication around agriculture. “We are in the best position to talk about our professions, which increasingly suffer from a bad image”, explains Martine Durin, deputy general secretary of the FNSEA Allier. Dialogues, particularly around the labels, will take place to help better understand their meaning according to the sectors.
This day will also be an opportunity to make a small nod to ecology, with the presentation of clean agriculture, the recovery of carbon produced on farms or even bioethanol.
