Miraflores, June 28, 2023. On June 25, “Festeja Perú” was held, a free concert that celebrated, to the rhythm of the cajón and guitar, the month of Afro-Peruvian culture. The municipality of Miraflores thus commemorated one of the most important dates on the national calendar, spreading its traditions, music and dances.
The event brought together thousands of attendees and great performers of Afro-Peruvian music in Pasaje Los Pintores. The Miraflores Percussion Ensemble began in the afternoon, a municipal program that seeks to value Afro-Peruvian culture in children from 7 to 15 years old. They were followed by Eric Moreno, Dúo Garbo, Nahomi Chávez, Melvin Quijada and a danceable finale with Cochicho and the Afro-Peruvian Association of Barrios Altos.
“Festeja Perú” was organized by the Miraflores commune, through the Management of Culture and Tourism, and Tracajón Producciones, a group made up of students from the Faculty of Communications of the Peruvian University of Applied Sciences.
In this way, the public spaces of the district continue to be activated, offering free shows to residents and visitors that promote the various cultural manifestations and artistic disciplines.
