The Salvadoran bowlers opened the year of sporting activities with the Open Tournament with Handicap 2024, in which the participants are divided into three groups, so they start the day on Monday and end on Saturday.

Although the Salvadoran Bowling Federation (Fesabowl) begins its activities with this event that takes place in the CARI Village, they are already focused on the Second Category and Senior Selective, which will serve to form the selection that will participate in the Central American Games and of the Caribbean to be held in Venezuela.

“The Open Handicap Tournament gives us the opportunity for all athletes to compete on equal terms, because we use it to give a bonus to those with a lower average. After that, the Second Category and Senior boys will fight for a place in the team that will represent us in Venezuela,” commented Mauricio Galdámez, technical director of Fesabowl.

After closing day one, the consolidated results go as follows, in first place Jeamy Escobar, who leads with a scratch of 1,297 and a total of 1,351. Miguel Mejía is next with 1,274 for a total score of 1,340, while Rudy Quintanilla is third with 1,274 and 1,340 points.

In fourth place is Luis Bendeck, with a scratch and overall score of 1,306 points; For his part, Roberto Miranda accumulated 1,141 in scratch and in total he added 1,303 in fifth place. Julio Servellon is sixth with 1,109 and 1,289 in total; while in seventh place is Marco Tomasino with 1,234 and a total of 1,288.

Eighth place goes to Eduardo Fajardo with 1,171 and 1,273. The ninth place is shared by Rony Hernandez with a scratch of 1,123 with a total of 1,249 along with Jorge Antelo with 1,105 and a total of 1,249.

“This tournament, more than anything, is an incentive for all the people who are interested in learning about the sport to come, learn, see the atmosphere we have as a federation and be encouraged to practice bowling because it is very entertaining,” said Marco Tomasino, bowler of the senior category.
