Fertiberia reaches its productivity record in 2020, with more than one million tons

The Fertiberia plant will end this 2020 with its maximum levels of productivity, having manufactured in the year that ends tomorrow more than one million tons of intermediate and final products, among which, according to the company, the most traditional fertilizers stand out together to the new generation and industrial products for the protection of the environment and health.

Among the novelties of the year, and within the framework of a process of diversification and sustainable commitment to products with greater added value, as of this year the Sagunto factory already contributes to the market up to 30,000 tons of AdBlue per year to reduce emissions of nitrous gases from diesel vehicles and up to 800 tonnes per day of a new liquid fertilizer solution of maximum agronomic efficiency and respect for the environment.

As indicated by factory sources, the demand for this type of liquid fertilizer «It has been increasing day by day in our country, because it is the first and only fertilizer to provide the plant with the three possible forms of nitrogen simultaneously, being considered the“ nutritionally perfect nitrogen fertilizer ”».

On the other hand, sales at the Fertiberia plant have been uniform throughout the year, with an increase in exports reaching 50 percent of the factory’s total production. Products that are marketed abroad are transported by sea, mainly to European countries such as Belgium, Holland, Germany, Scandinavian countries, Great Britain and France.

Among the exports, the success of the nitrate fertilizer with sulfur contribution stands out, an agronomically optimal solution that contributes to a greater level of diversification of the factory installed in the municipality since the 1980s, in an increasingly market more globalized.

Another aspect that the company highlights is that the Fertiberia factory takes advantage of its own production process to self-produce the total amount of electrical energy and water needed, within a process decarbonization plan that is part of the Group’s present and future strategy , which is particularly relevant from the point of view of conservation and protection of the environment.

In terms of safety, the Sagunto plant has managed to maintain the levels of recent years in 2020, however, «The Fertiberia Group has the ambition to lead the safety, health and environment standards in the European chemical industry, to reach the highest level and become a global benchmark. For this, it has the support of the world reference company in the field Dupont Sustainable Solutions ».

Remember, in this sense, that within the framework of this commitment, last November the president of the Fertiberia Group, Javier Goñi, visited the local factory to discuss safety with the professionals of the plant, while they carried out their work in the factory itself. workplace, recognizing their safe work, for their own interest, their families and their colleagues, stand out from the company.
