In accordance to the representative of the Swedish maritime administration Jonas Franzen, the fireplace broke out on the car deck. Three helicopters and seven ships were being sent to the scene and the evacuation of individuals from the ship began.
There have been no reports of casualties and the bring about of the fireplace is however unknown. Swedish authorities also claimed the hearth was remaining held under manage. The Stena Scandica ferry was off the island of Gotska Sanden, off the southeast coastline of Sweden.
