Ferry Corsten – Yesterday, today, tomorrow
Well, who remembers? Ferry Corsten certainly doesn’t. In our debut FAZEmag issue in March 2012, we asked the trance icon for a quick chat and asked him about his wishes for the future. Find out here whether they have been fulfilled and what his current plans are.
Ferry, time for a little flashback. How did you experience the early 2010s?
It was a very interesting time. Trance was changing and bigroom was on the rise. For me, who has always played around with new and current trends, it was a great time to explore different styles and ideas.
At the time you said that one of your wishes for the near future was to produce someone else. What happened?
I think that desire has vanished into thin air. The only other person I produce for is my other alias FERR, my ambient project. Time in the studio is limited and is completely taken up by my two projects.
You also told us about your wishes for the distant future: to produce an album for a rock band. We assume that nothing came of that either…?
To be honest, I can’t remember. I don’t have any desire to do it at the moment. Film music, on the other hand, is something I would like to explore more because I find it really interesting.
Back to the here and now: What does reality look like?
I will be releasing my new album this year called “Connect”. Some singles have already been released, but the main album will be out in November. I’m also working on a new Gouryella single as we’re celebrating 25 years of Gouryella this year. A new FERR album is also in the works. I’m also touring a lot and can’t wait to start the album tour as soon as it’s out.
