On the night of this Wednesday (13), Ferroviário visited Ferroviária, at Arena Fonte Luminosa, in Araraquara, and was held to a goalless draw in the first game of the Series D final. The choral team had the best chances of the match and he hit the post on two occasions in the second half, with Thiaguinho and Ciel.
The result maintains Tubarão da Barra’s unbeaten record in the competition and leaves the match open for the big decision, scheduled for this Saturday (16), at 4pm, at the Presidente Vargas Stadium, in Fortaleza. Whoever wins the match will be the champion of the 2023 fourth national division.
THE GAME
Even with the complicated and exhausting logistics, Ferroviário started the game well connected. With less than a minute to play, Ciel wasted a big chance. The number 99 received a great pass from Kadu Barone, getting in the face of goalkeeper Léo Wall, but sent the ball out wide.
Afterwards, Ferroviária balanced their actions and, after five minutes, saw the ball pass close to Igor Rayan’s left post, in a shot by Felipinho from the edge of the area.
In the next move, at six, Ferroviário had a loss for the remainder of the match, when Felipe Guedes, who was returning after serving a suspension, had a knee-to-knee collision with an athlete from the opposing team and had to leave the pitch. In his place, Paulinho Kobayashi chose striker Thiaguinho.
The game started at a lukewarm pace and both teams were looking for attacks on crosses, specifically Ferrão, and the chances became scarcer after 15 minutes, when Ciel took a free kick from very far away and threatened goalkeeper Léo Wall, who saw the ball goes over your goal.
The emotions only started again in the final stretch of the first stage. In the 35th minute, Ciel scored, but the goal didn’t count. Camisa 99 received a good deep pass and finished with class to find the net. However, he was in front and was caught in an irregular position. It’s 0 to 0.
Five minutes later, in a quick counterattack, Antonio took off at speed and made the right cross for Batista, who played over Igor Rayan’s goal and missed São Paulo’s best chance in the first half.
BRAKE ATRAPALHAO FERRÃO
On the way back to the second stage, Ferroviária tried to impose initial pressure, which didn’t work out very well. So much so that the big chance belonged to Ferroviário, when Thiaguinho finished first time to hit goalkeeper Léo Wall’s right post.
In the 12th minute, Alexandre Lopes, Ferroviária’s coach, made three changes at once and introduced Vitor Barreto, Thomaz and Paulinho Santos in place of Felipinho, Marcos Nunes and Judá Aguiar.
Vitor Barreto even needed just a minute on the field to have his first chance, with a shot from the edge of the area that goalkeeper Igor Rayan saved without rebounding.
Kobayashi also changed his team to try to secure victory in the first game, but it did little good. The big chance of the match came in the 37th minute. Ciel took a free kick with great strength and class, but it stopped on Léo Wall’s crossbar. Shortly after, at 43, Ciel scared once again with a submission that Léo Wall saved in two halves.
At 49, Roni Lobo was sent off after grabbing Vitor Barreto, who got in the face of Igor Rayan. From the free kick, Thomaz finished and the ball passed close to the Coral goalkeeper’s right post.
