The president of Sampdoria, Massimo Ferrero, insulted the journalist Renzo Parodi, this morning in Marassi in the press room of the stadium, just before the presentation of the coach Roberto D’Aversa. Ferrero allegedly heavily disputed the content of an article on the sale of Sampdoria published on Calciomercato.com.
USSI reacted immediately with a statement on what happened: “The sports journalists group Ussi Liguria strongly condemns the verbal excesses of the Sampdoria president Massimo Ferrero against his colleague Renzo Parodi, during the presentation of the coach D’Aversa to the Ferraris stadium in Genoa. Unacceptable tones and words that made one fear for a moment even the removal of the colleague from the press room. Fortunately, the affair was immediately closed (also due to the immediate intervention of one of our advisors Ussi present at the conference) and we take positive note of Ferrero’s public apology and the subsequent clarification at the end of the conference between the Sampdoria president and Parodi himself. We naturally hope that this episode will remain isolated and that – also in respect of different opinions and positions – the relationship and discussion between President Massimo Ferrero and fellow journalists will always be serene, correct and respectful of their roles ».
