Ferrero emergency, product withdrawn from the market: if you have it at home, don’t eat it

Black period for the Italian multinational Ferrero: after the withdrawal of some lots of Kinder Schoko-Bons and the closure of the Arlon officein Belgium, the withdrawal of two other products of the famous brand is announced.

Considering the cause of some salmonella outbreaks – there were 134 confirmed cases in 9 countries – the batches of Kinder Schoko-Bons were recalled and analyzed by the experts. And, as a matter of precaution, Ferrero has decided to withdraw from the market all the products made at the Aarlon site, which was then closed by the authorities for investigations. To aggravate the position of the company, however, the knowledge by Ferrero managers of the presence of the bacterium in some tanks of raw materials as early as mid-December.

Ferrero, withdrawn other products from the market

After the news about the withdrawal of Kinder Schoko-Bons from supermarkets – including Italians – spread, another blow has arrived for Ferrero.

The multinational recalled two other products: Kinder Happy Moments Minimix (pack of 162 grams) and Plush Rabbit Maxi Mix containing Kinder Schoko Bons (pack of 133 grams), produced by the Belgian factory above, for “microbiological risk and possible presence of salmonella“.

“The company invites anyone who has purchased and not yet consumed the Kinder Schoko-Bons product, on the aforementioned preferential consumption dates, not to consume it, to keep it and then to contact the customer service on the toll-free number 800 90 96 90 – reads in a note issued by Ferrero -. This voluntary and precautionary decision is in line with the values ​​that have always guided the Ferrero Group, such as the highest priority for consumer protection, the quality and food safety of its products “.

Ferrero, the Italian offices are not involved

To clarify the position of the Italian Ferrero offices, the press officers of the multinational took care of it directly.

As pointed out, the offices of Alba, Pozzuolo Martesana, Balvano and Sant’Angelo dei Lombardi, they are in no case involved in the affair which, on the other hand, concerned the Belgian plant and those of other European countries such as Great Britain.

To date, therefore, confectionery products made in our country can be sold and safely purchased at Italian supermarkets.
