Ferrari did not win a case before the Formula 1 stewards. The right of review requested by the Scuderia after the penalty imposed at the Australian GP on Carlos Sainz has been rejected.
The stewards felt that Ferrari had not contributed anything new, significant and relevant that was not available at the time of the race in Melbourne. The right of revision was therefore deemed inadmissible and the classification of the Australian GP definitively ratified.
Ferrari was contesting a five-second penalty given to Sainz for a collision with Fernando Alonso (Aston Martin-Mercedes) during the chaotic end-of-race restart. This had moved the Ferrari driver from 4th to 12th final place.
