The SP-8 is more than just a roofless F8 Spider with a fancy two-tone paint job, as it eschews many parts of the production car. For example, the front headlights are completely new, while the rear lights are from the Roma model, but with custom graphics.
The windshield and exhaust tips are in turn derived from the 296 GTB model. When it comes to wheels with a retro design, the five-spoke wheels with a matte gray finish are a modern take on the wheels of the legendary F40 model from the eighties.

The wide aluminum front grille is made from a single 3D-printed mold and includes vertical stripes for another retro touch. There are also longitudinal stripes on the engine cover, reminiscent of classic models such as the Testarossa.
Ferrari says engineers spent a lot of time perfecting the body using computational fluid dynamics simulations to ensure the car remains aerodynamically quiet even without a roof.
The mid-mounted eight-cylinder remains unchanged, so the 3.9-liter twin-turbo engine continues to produce 710 horsepower and 770 Nm of torque, sent to the rear wheels.
The Ferrari SP-8 is on display at Italy’s Mugello circuit and will remain there until the end of the Finali Mondiali Ferrari 2023 event, on October 30. Its next stop will be the Ferrari Museum in Maranello, where it will be on display from November 16 to March 2024.
