A decidedly spectacular duel between Ferrari number 16 and Red Bull with the number 1 world champion. A challenge that had already been seen in Bahrain and that was replicated in an even more exciting way in Saudi Arabia. There is, however, an aspect of the duel between Leclerc e Verstappen which attracted attention. It is an attempt by both drivers to take the straight behind their rival in order to take advantage of the DRS and thus be able to overtake. A choice that led Horner to ask for a review of the regulation: “The DRS is very powerful, you play cat and mouse – her words – . The DRS areas should be reviewed in the next few years“. Leclerc also expressed himself on this and showed that he did not agree with the changes to the current situation.

The pilot of the Ferrari it seems to embrace the line of maintaining the current situation. On the other hand, in the first two races of the year there were many overtakes. The Monegasque then stated: “I believe that, for now, the DRS must remain: without the races they would be very boring“.

Leclerc continued in his reasoning: “While this year is easier to follow than last year, I still think it’s not enough to get rid of the DRS. I like very much“. Ferrari driver number 16 indicates it as an instrument to be exploited also in a strategic way: “It is now part of the overtaking and defense plans of the drivers, it is part of the races“.

No changes therefore for Leclerc who thus responds indirectly to the words of Horner. The duel between Ferrari and Red Bull begins to move also on the communicative level even if it is unlikely to reach the level reached last year for the battle between Vestappen and Hamilton.
