Ferrari LaFerrari Prototype for Sale: Closest to Real Model, Sells for Millions

A prototype of Ferrari’s historic LaFerrari is now on sale. The sample is a third level prototype – as close to the real model as possible. The car is not that much faster than an A tractor – but it still sells for a huge sum.

The LaFerrari debuted in 2013 and was an instant hit with its looks and power. Under the hood is a 6.3-liter V12 that produces 950 horsepower along with a hybrid powertrain. The supercar’s technological advances were taken from Ferrari F1 cars.

The model has a very low center of gravity and the production car does 0-100 km/h in 2.5 seconds with a top speed of 350 km/h. The LaFerrari also stands out as the first Ferrari model to be designed in-house without the help of other designers such as Pininfarina.

As the LaFerrari was a huge project to produce a final product, it took over a year to perfect it. Many prototypes were produced and this one that is now being sold belongs to the third phase. This means it is as close to the final product as it is possible to get with the same body and drivetrain.

Unfortunately, the model is not allowed to drive on the street, except on tracks. However, it has a top speed of 48 km/h. So it will not be possible to get out. Despite this, the prototype has driven 1,641 miles. It also doesn’t look like the owner of the car had an easy time getting rid of his car as this is the third time in three years that it has been sold. it is SBX Cars who will turn it off. We’ll see if it sells this time, but right now the current bid is SEK 13 million.
