Ferrari has unveiled a racing supercar with a 700-horsepower engine :: Autonews

Ferrari has unveiled a special version of the Ferrari 488 supercar, which is designed exclusively for track driving. As reported Carscoops, the two-door received a prefix in the name GT Modificata, and only members of the Ferrari Competizioni GT club will be able to purchase it. Members of this community can compete on various well-known tracks in the world (among them Monza and Nürburgring) without the strict restrictions of the FIA regulations.

The body of the novelty is almost entirely made of carbon fiber. The car received a steel safety cage and bucket seats with six-point seat belts. The driver has access to a rear-view camera, tire pressure sensors, a special V-Box measuring complex and Bosch telemetry.

The supercar is equipped with a 3.9-liter twin-turbo V8 petrol engine. The power of the unit is 700 horsepower. If desired, customers can order a gearbox with different gear ratios. The car also received Brembo brakes.

In September, Ferrari presented a new modification of its “junior” Portofino supercar, which replaced the California T three years ago. Now the roadster has received a version called Modificata. The output of the 3.9-liter twin-turbo V8 engine was increased from 600 to 620 horsepower (peak torque remained at the same level – 760 Newton meters). The unit works with a new eight-speed robotic transmission with improved clutch, which replaced the seven-speed “robot”.
