Ferrari Accelerates Electrification Process with First Electric Car Set for 2025

ON TRACK – We knew that the arrival of Benedetto Vigna as CEO of Ferrari it would have accelerated the electrification process of the Maranello company. And in fact the roadmap, which included the debut of the first electric pure with the prancing horse in the 2025, is still more than current. Indeed, to those who claimed that the project was late, Vigna replied that “all the tests are being done on the prototype”. He did so while speaking to journalists on the sidelines of the presentation of the results for the third quarter of 2023 (revenues of 1.54 billion euros, 3,459 cars delivered and a net profit of 332 million): “We are in the times both in terms of the development of the car and in terms of the infrastructure that will allow us to make the components of the car,” Vigna said.

SMARTPHONE TESTS – “Actually, thanks to the fact that one was used methodology typical of electronics for the tests of the electrical and electronic part, we anticipated a whole series of problems that can generally emerge later”, continued the CEO. In detail this is the technique called “Hardware in the Loop”. The approach is known in the hi-tech world, where it is normally used to test electronic devices (smartphones and computers above all), and tries to simulate the behavior of products in the most diverse conditions possible. This allows you to speed up the debugging phase of the electronic system and, thanks to this type of testing, “we have already solved some problems that in our hybrid models normally arose at a later stage of development”, explained Vigna.

THE FACTORY ALMOST READY – Be the supercar electric from the Ferrari it will be ready in 2025it must be ready first factory to build it. The goal is in fact to inaugurate the e-building in June 2024: it will be a cutting-edge plant both in terms of sustainability and flexibility, they promise Ferrari. “It’s practically closed and we started installing the machines,” said Benedetto Vigna. The company chosen to build the factory “was very quick. Others had problems with reinforced concrete, we didn’t, everything arrived on time and we are on schedule.”
