Ferrari 812 Special Version, here are the first photos – Auto World

Once again, new advances on the Ferrari 812 Special Version, the new, more extreme variant of the 812 Superfast that should be unveiled this year by the Cavallino. In fact, some photos shared by Rosso812, the same profile that had also released the video of Enrico Galliera, Chief Marketing and Commercial Officer of Maranello, showing a car from above, identified as the new Ferrari 812 Special Version (or GTO, a name that still remains valid despite the words of the manager of the Italian brand).

Ferrari 812 GTO arrives in 2021, swan song for the V12

In the stolen shot you immediately notice a generous front vent that runs along the entire bonnet while the roof design appears decidedly different from that already seen on the standard version of the Ferrari 812 Superfast. Aerodynamic solutions that should make it possible to further reduce the weight of the car. The Special Version, in addition to bringing a new extreme car from the Cavallino to the road, it should also be the last car with a naturally aspirated V12 engine produced in Maranello. In the past, the Chief Technology Officer of Maranello, Michael Leiters, had stated that the Cavallino’s intentions were to “keep the naturally aspirated V12 alive for as long as possible”, with the possibility therefore of seeing it also on the Ferrari Purosangue, the first SUV of the Modena car manufacturer.

An important step for Ferrari which will shift its attention towards electrification, with a series of hybrid engines to comply with the stringent regulations in terms of emissions. Hence also the possibility that the engine exceeds 850 hp, given that at the time of its debut the 812 Superfast had the most powerful 12-cylinder V-engine ever produced (until the advent of the Monza SP1 and SP2 boats). The new Ferrari, whose name still remains shrouded in mystery after the hypothesis was advanced that the Special Version denomination was only an internal identification in Maranello, should be unveiled in mid-April.
