To be precise, the name of the novel is formally Ferrari 12Cilindri, but the Italians would say “dodici cilindri”. And that means “twelve cylinders”. There are, v Maranella was named simply after the number of cylinders in the new model’s power unit. It turns out that almost everything sounds good in Italian…
In fact, Ferrari claims that the name is to indicate the real presence of the twelve cylinder under the front hood. Actually, we get it and we’re all ten for it. Today, the use of a powerful V12 with a volume of 6.5 liters deserves to be recognized, especially in atmospheric and especially non-electric form – even if it appears in a unique and expensive car.
After all, the Italian car manufacturer admits that he had a lot of work to ensure that the engine met not only emission requirements, but above all noise limits. The acoustic performance of the trap had to be within 72 dB. It sure sounds good anyway.
What about performance? Ferrari claims a maximum 830bhp at – hold on – 9,250rpm! Meanwhile, the twelve-cylinder engine can rev up to 9,500. The “torque” then reaches 678 Nm at 7,250 rpm. The engine is paired with an 8-speed automatic transmission.
The 12Cilindri accelerates from zero to one hundred in 2.9 seconds, from rest to 200 km/h in just 7.9 seconds. These numbers apply to the coupe, but an open Spider is also planned, which is a little slower. It accelerates from rest to 200 km/h in 8.2 seconds.
Naturally, Ferrari has equipped the car with modern technology, which includes active aerodynamics, turning the wheels of the rear axle or wire brakes. The interior is mostly impressive with the display for the passenger, but also notice the screen in the middle of the dashboard and without a large number of buttons. This display will be used to control most onboard functions.
Ferrari gives a dry weight of 1,560 kilograms for the 4,733-millimeter cylinder of length 12, and if you are also interested in practicality, know that the new model has a 270-liter luggage compartment.
The Italian automaker sells the new twelve-cylinder Ferrari at a price starting at 395,000 euros, which translates to about 9.9 million crowns. The open Spider is a little more expensive, it will cost at least 435,000 euros, ie about 10.8 million crowns.
