And he added that the health situation is so critical, that “Buenos Aires ran out of vaccines and there are no longer beds in the hospitals … It is the Argentine tragedy, 500 people are dying every day because the Government has handled the pandemic in a horrible way ”.
That is why he rejected that the competition be held in that territory: “I do not understand how Conmebol does not have a reasonable act to say let’s suspend, let’s wait a while ”.
“It would be foolish to play when there are restrictions for foreigners and trips to the interior of Argentina, it is an incongruity, “he added after referring to the measures to stop contagion, including strict quarantine until May 30.
In that sense, he opined that the event is intended to be used by rulers and leaders to hide serious problems from the population.
“They want Argentina and Messi to win and go out with the Cup believing that this success will replace the disasters they have made socially and healthily, that is the objective they have,” he concluded.
The concept of Niembro joins that of Hugo Moyano, vice president of the Argentine Football Association (AFA), who in turn expressed: “You have to make an effort to avoid the Copa América in Argentina; life comes first ”.
The tournament is scheduled to take place between June 13 and July 10, although it is speculated that the final phases could be in Uruguay, where there could be box office collection.
