Ex-MP Dominik Feri is heading to the appeals court, tomorrow’s verdict will be final. He appealed against the decision of the District Court for Prague 3, which sentenced him to three years in prison unconditionally for two rapes and one attempted rape.
The representative of the victims, Adéla Hořejší, also appealed against the amount of compensation awarded to the victims by the court of first instance.
Feri was found guilty of all three crimes charged by the prosecution.
In the first case, she accused him of raping a girl who was seventeen at the time. The young woman had a meeting with the exposal in a wine bar, after which they moved to his house, where, according to the prosecutor, he began to press her. That’s why the girl wanted to leave. When leaving, Feri offered her a drink, according to public prosecutor Petra Gřivnová, after which the girl was supposed to remember only fragments of her lying on the bed with Feri and him inserting his fingers into her vagina. He also allegedly forced her to perform oral sex. The public prosecutor stated that the woman expressed her disapproval of the ambassador’s behavior.
In the second case, the political star of the time was said to have urged an eighteen-year-old girl in his apartment and forcibly forced her to have sexual intercourse. According to the indictment, Feri committed rape. They were supposed to go to his apartment together with his friends after the concert in Lucerne. Even this time, according to the plaintiff, the woman rejected his behavior from the beginning. She should have begged him to stop.
According to the state prosecutor, he committed the third act, i.e. attempted rape, in the Chamber of Deputies, where Feri offered the victim the position of an intern. Gřivnová described that the then deputy started touching the girl’s breast and behind and tried to reach between her legs. According to her, this woman also verbally expressed disapproval.
Dominik Feri constantly denies guilt.
