Ferenc Falus: There may be ten times more coronaviruses in Hungary than the official data

There may be ten times more cases of coronavirus in Hungary than in the official data – told RTL Híradó Falus Ferenc was a nationwide chief medical officer who said

there is a complete mess in epidemic management.

The National Center for Public Health recommends that an infected person should remain at home for at least 10 days after experiencing symptoms of the coronavirus and should only leave home quarantine for 3 days without fever.

According to the village, the ten-day period of official quarantine could be changed due to the fact that the incubation time is shorter and the infectivity disappears sooner than the now-spreading omicron variant of the coronavirus. But

official quarantine does not currently work in Hungary. No one is checking that quarantine rules are being followed, so quarantine is currently a voluntary commitment.

Said the lung specialist, who recommends everyone to be quarantined for 5 days for mild symptoms.

According to Falus, the authorities do not even know about the vast majority of infections, and most of the cases confirmed at home with a self-funded test are not registered, so the actual number of those infected could be as much as ten times the official number, according to Falus.
