Former Kadiv Propam Polri Freddy Sambo make a confession. Lui admitted feeling guilty for involving his men in the murder of Brigadier N Yosua Hutabarat and the destruction of CCTV.
This statement was made by Sambo when he was a witness in the CCTV tampering trial obstructing the investigation into the murder of Yosua and AKP defendant Irfan Widyanto in South Jakarta District Court on Friday evening (16/12/2022 ). Freddie Sambo he pleaded guilty when questioned by Irfan’s lawyer, Ragahdo Yosodiningrat.
“The witness made a statement dated August 30, 2022, can you testify or tell this court what this statement is related to?” Raghodo asked.
“While questioning the cyber investigators, I told them that Hendra Kurniawan, Agus Nurpatria, then Irfan didn’t understand what the real story was. They weren’t wrong, they were amazing people, I couldn’t face them all, because I knew I was wrong. Yours Your Majesty,” Sambo said.
Sambo said that he did not know how to repay sins. He hopes the judge can assess the honesty of his men about him.
“I know I was wrong, I don’t know how I have to repay the sins that I, I, have to go through. But yes, I think this is what it might be in front of Your Excellency, who might be able to then judge how my younger siblings,” Sambo said.
Sambo said his men failed to follow procedures when they took CCTV at the Duren Tiga police compound the day after Yosua was killed. However, he said, it was enough to resolve it through an ethical process.
“If there is a procedural error, it does not have a mandate, this is the code of ethics procedure that will pass. This could be the content of my statement and I pass it on at every level of examination, in every process that I do, they don’t know nothing. But what happened? It was assumed because of them he was my ex spri (personal secretary) so he knew the story, he assumed he was my member, so he knew the story, because I was wrong, because I lied during the initial story I was wrong Your Honor and I am ready to be punished for what I did,” he said.

Sambo also admitted that he was embarrassed when he faced his former subordinates in the obstruction-of-justice trial in the investigation into Brigadier Yosua’s murder. Sambo admits he is sorry and will be held accountable for his actions.
Initially, Irfan’s lawyer Ragahdo Yosodiningrat asked if Irfan had ever been Sambo’s personal assistant. Then, Sambo confirmed it.
“Witness, when asked by the panel of judges, you replied that the witness had worked with the defendant or that the defendant was spiritual. Is the witness right?” Raghodo asked.
“Right,” Sambo replied.
