Freddie Sambo said the contents of CCTV at his official residence, Duren Tiga compound, South Jakarta, were different from the shooting scenario related to the murder of Brigadier Yosua Hutabarat. Then Sambo became concerned and ordered his men to check the CCTV cameras.
This was conveyed by Sambo as he became a witness in the trial of the CCTV vandalism case causing delays in the investigation into the murder of Brigadier Yosua and AKP defendant Irfan Widyanto in South Jakarta District Court on Friday (16/12/ 2022). The former head of the Propam division was initially asked by the judge why he had ordered his men at Divpropam at the time to monitor the CCTV of the compound on July 9 or the day after Yosua’s death.
“You said earlier that you had an order for the Provos to do an initial inspection and then for the Paminal to check the CCTV?” the judge asked.
“So, Your Majesty,” said Sambo.
“For Paminal’s job of monitoring CCTV, does that mean the complex’s CCTV is being monitored?” the judge asked again.
“Because I think it will be necessary to clarify this case,” he said.
Sambo assessed that the CCTV content could shed light on the real events that happened at that time. He also admitted that he initially thought there would be no problems if the CCTV cameras at the Duren Tiga complex were examined.
“I clarified this case because at first I also thought that there is no problem with CCTV outside, but because it also focus on Duren Tiga then on the street. So I had no problem with this CCTV at that time. So, Of course, I ordered Karo Paminal to check,” he said.
Ferdy Sambo was worried that CCTV would become a problem after learning its contents. Sambo said the CCTV footage showed something different from the initial scenario story of Yosua’s murder that had been passed on to his superiors and members of the Indonesian National Police.

“Yes, because that doesn’t match the story I’ve conveyed to members and leadership,” Sambo said.
“This is what I want to know, what story did you tell the members, try to explain,” said the judge.
“I said earlier in the story that I entered TKP and the incident had already happened,” Sambo said.
“The shootings have already happened,” he continued.
He also admitted that the story of the shooting he did was passed on to Karo Penmas Polri and the South Jakarta Police Chief. Sambo claimed to be responsible.
