Ismail Bolong admitted that he deposited Rp 6 billion with Kabareskrim. He has admitted to working as a coal collector from an unlicensed concession. The illegal activity is said to be in the Santan Ulu area, Marangkayu District, Kutai Kartanegara Regency, East Kalimantan, which is under the jurisdiction of the Bontang Police, from July 2020 to November 2021.
Ismail Bolong himself is known to be a former member of the Samarinda, East Kalimantan police, with the last rank of Aiptu serving in the Samarinda, East Kalimantan Police Security Intelligence Unit. Ismail Bolong admitted he had retired early since July 2022 after his video accusing Kabareskrim Komjen Agus Andrianto of receiving a billions deposit from him from illegal coal mining went viral on social media.
IPW statement
Previously, IPW had asked the National Police to form a special team to investigate the case. IPW assessed that Ismail Bolong’s statement still had something to do with Ferdy Sambo and Hendra Kurniawan.
“We asked the chief of the national police to form a special team to investigate Ismail Bolong’s two different statements. We believe that when Ismail Bolong released a statement providing funds for the protection of illegal mines, there was an examination of the Propam of the his era led by Ferdy Sambo from Paminal at that time Brigadier General Hendra who is now at the PTDH, ”said Indonesia Police Watch (IPW) President Sugeng Teguh Santoso.
“There are actual documents, the Propam Div, there are documents from the exam results and Ferdy Sambo’s report relating to this case, so this needs to be investigated so that it doesn’t become slander,” he added.
