Apologies delivered Ferdi Sambo to the family of Brigadier Joshua Hutabarat when he was handed over to the prosecutor. But the apology was judged too late by Joshua’s family.
Sambo originally talked about the excuse to kill Joshua. He admitted that he was angry about the events that took place in Magelang.
“I do it because I love my wife. I don’t know in what language I can express my feelings, emotions and anger because of the events that happened in Magelang,” Sambo said in South Jakarta on Wednesday (5/10/2022) .

He said his heart broke when he received information relating to the Magelang events. Sambo he stressed that he was ready to face legal proceedings for his actions.
“I am very sorry. I am ready to undergo all legal processes. My wife is innocent, she did nothing but she is the victim,” Sambo said.
Only then did Sambo apologize. Apologies are also addressed to the Yosua family.
“I apologize to the parties that have been affected by my actions, including Yosua’s mother and father,” added Sambo.
Sambo’s apology was deemed late
However, Brigadier Joshua’s attorney Yonathan Baskoro said the apology was too late. Jonathan was surprised that an apology was delivered when Sambo was about to go to trial.
“It’s too late, and why is it only now when it comes to legal proceedings?” Jonathan told reporters on Wednesday (5/10).
Yonathan then spoke about restorative justice opportunities if Sambo recognized and apologized from the start. He mentions the attitude of mutual love that must be applied to other human beings.
“Had it been broadcast from the start, perhaps we would have opened up opportunities for the restorative justice process,” he said.
“However, we as a family, as God’s creation, are taught to love everyone and forgive other humans who have done harm, even if the crime is very heinous,” continued Yonathan.
