Freddy Sambo he admits that his position, namely the head of the Propam Division at the National Police Command, intimidated the police at the time. Freddy Sambo he claimed that he had only ordered detectives to work according to procedure.
At first the judge asked Freddy Sambo relating to the testimony of former Satreskrim Polres South Jakarta AKP chief Rifaizal Samual who said he was pressured by Sambo while trying to interrogate Richard Eliezer and Ricky Rizal.
“Especially he felt intimidated when you ordered him not to ask too deep questions, what’s the story?” asked the judge in Sambo, South Jakarta District Court, Jl Ampera Raya, while testifying for defendants Ricky Rizal, Richard Eliezer and Strong Ma’ruf, on Wednesday (7/12/2022).
Sambo also admitted that his position intimidated the police. Indeed, according to him, he has never transmitted verbal or physical intimidation.
“In my reply yesterday, I stated that I had never intimidated them verbally or physically, but I am sure that psychologically they would have been intimidated by Your Excellency with my position,” said Ferdy Sambo.
“Although in the pronunciation that was conveyed by the witness that it is not necessary to ask aloud, because in fact they are like this, Your Honor,” he said.
Additionally, the judge sought Sambo’s orders from former Karo Provos Propam Polri, Benny Ali and Brigadier General Hendra, when they were ordered to the site of Brigadier J’s shooting. Sambo admitted that he told his subordinates to follow the procedure.
“I just ordered it to be done according to procedure. So frankly, Your Honor, I didn’t even expect it to go on as usual. As I ordered Karo Provos to secure weapons, Karo Paminal to check TKP, Kasat to work out the TKP, this was done as Your Majesty,” he said.
“I didn’t tell you not to do it, I just said to go through the process according to the procedure and that’s what I have to regret after this incident,” he added.
However, Sambo admitted that he ordered his subordinates to escort the ambulance that took Yosua’s body to the hospital for an autopsy. Furthermore, Sambo admitted that he ordered his subordinates to monitor the CCTV.
“Then I also ordered Karo Paminal to check the CCTV cameras around the place because in fact I didn’t even expect there to be CCTV cameras which I then ordered to destroy Your Honor,” he said.
In this trial, Eliezer, Ricky Rizal and Strong Ma’ruf were accused along with Ferdy Sambo, Candrawathi’s daughter, of committing the premeditated murder of Brigadier Nopriansyah Yosua Hutabarat.
The defendants were charged with violating Article 340 of the Criminal Code subordinated to Article 338 of the Criminal Code in conjunction with Article 55 Paragraph 1 1 of the Criminal Code.
