Ferdinand Hutahaean’s Hate Speech Case Moves to the Investigation Stage

JAKARTA, KOMPAS.TV The Criminal Investigation Unit of the National Police Headquarters has raised the status of the alleged hate speech case involving Ferdinand Hutahaean (FH) to the investigation stage.

Karo Penmas, Police Public Relations Division, Brigadier General Ahmad Ramadhan, said that the increase in the status of the hate speech case was carried out after the Cyber ​​Directorate of Police Headquarters conducted additional examinations of two witnesses and five expert witnesses.

“After examining several additional witnesses and expert witnesses, the investigation team of the Cyber ​​Crime Directorate continued the case. The results of the case title decided to raise the case from an investigation to an investigation,” Ramadhan said in his statement, Thursday (6/1/2022).

Until now, added Ramadhan, his party had asked for information from 10 witnesses, five witnesses and five expert witnesses.

“This expert witness consists of a language witness, a sociological witness, a criminal expert witness, a religious expert witness and an ITE expert witness,” Ramadhan said in his statement, Thursday (6/1/2022).

After raising the status to investigation, the Cyber ​​​​Directorate of Criminal Investigation at the National Police Headquarters immediately issued a Notice of Commencement of Investigation (SPDP) and it has been sent to the Attorney General’s Office.

“So until now, updateit is increasing from investigation to investigation. And the plan is for investigators to follow up with a summons to FH’s brother as a witness,” said Ramadhan.

When asked about when to call Ramadan, he could not give a definite schedule. “We don’t have any information yet,” he said.
