More than eleven thousand people arrived in Hungary on Monday
On June 12, 2023, 6,106 people entered the territory of Hungary at the Ukrainian-Hungarian border between midnight and midnight. Among those who entered the Romanian-Hungarian border section, 5,294 people declared that they came from Ukraine.
Among those admitted, the police issued temporary residence certificates to 40 people, which are valid for 30 days. Within this period, they must visit the office of the National Directorate General of Immigration, which is competent according to their place of residence, in order to obtain the final documents.
The police continue to help those fleeing the war.
The grain agreement is in danger
UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres expressed concern that Russia will withdraw from an agreement allowing safe exports of grain and fertilizer next month.
“I am concerned and we are working hard to ensure that the Black Sea Initiative is maintained while continuing our work to facilitate Russian exports,” he said.
The deal will allow millions of tons of Ukrainian grain to be shipped through the blockaded ports. This is especially vital for many developing countries that depend on Ukraine’s significant contribution to the world’s grain supply.
A three-year memorandum of understanding was signed on the deal to convince Russia to participate, but Russia now says it is not satisfied with the implementation of the deal. He wants to restart ammonia exports via a pipeline to the Ukrainian port of Pivdenny and to reconnect the Russian Agricultural Bank to the SWIFT international payments system.
The shelters are in a disappointing state
In his nightly video, the Ukrainian president reported that he had received a report on the readiness and condition of the air defense rooms and shelters operating throughout the country, including in major cities and Kyiv.
“The results are disappointing, to say the least. The relevant draft resolutions will be prepared on Friday – both about those responsible, and about ensuring an adequate level of protection for our people in every Ukrainian city,” Volodymyr Zelenskyy said, but he did not elaborate on what this meant for the time being.
Zelensky: the fighting has intensified, but we are moving forward
“The fighting is fierce, but we are moving forward, and this is very important. We need precisely the losses of the enemy. Although the weather is not favorable recently – the rains make it difficult for us – the strength of our fighters will bring the result, and I thank everyone who is fighting now , to everyone who supports our combat brigades in the affected areas,” the Ukrainian president said in his nightly video.
Volodymyr Zelensky was briefed on the combat successes achieved during the counterattack, the points on the front where reinforcements are needed, and the actions that could break new Russian positions.
