This time, the first bird reserve tour of the 2023 cruise season started from the south coast, Agárd, on Friday, April 21, in the late afternoon. We turned towards the Mosquito Island and discovered the bird sanctuary of Lake Velence, where we got to know the sulphur-brown world of the floating marshes.
On the way, Péter Kiss, an employee of the Danube-Ipoly National Park Administration, led the visitors and answered questions. The lake’s past, present, water level and, of course, the wonderful wildlife that lives in it were discussed.
We saw some exciting bird species, quiet lake life, and on the way back, of course, the sunset could not be missed. Probably, the Saturday evening cruise at 6 p.m., combined with wine tasting, will also have its own magical atmosphere.
Fortunately, the sailing season finally started this year with maximum interest, which is why it is worth registering in advance if you want to take part in a tour.
