Fentanyl Factory Discovered in Bronx Residence: Four Men Charged

Four men are being charged who authorities say operated a fentanyl factory in a residence in the Bronx.

Three of them belong to the same family. These are Wellington, Cristian and Heriberto Eustate Espinal.

The three, along with Roberto Jose Vargas Paulino, face charges of conspiracy and distribution of narcotics.

They were arrested after a raid Thursday night at an apartment where they were allegedly preparing fentanyl for sale.

The operation occurred around five in the afternoon, in a building located on Beaumont Avenue, in the Belmont sector.

Authorities confiscated fentanyl powder and found pill presses as part of the investigation.

The apartment is located a few doors away from an elementary school.

More than 50 pounds of fentanyl were found at the scene, one of the largest seizures of this dangerous drug in the history of New York City.
