Farewell to the ex-President of Galatasaray, Duygun Yarsuvat, who passed away from the former President of Fenerbahçe, Aziz Yıldırım. Former Galatasaray President Duygun Yarsuvat passed away yesterday. Many condolence messages have been published after Yarsuvat, an academic, lawyer and sports manager, who passed away at the age of 84. Yarsuvat, one of the names who voiced the plots of FETO, Fenerbahce and Aziz Yildirim were supported in the July 3 plot.
Yarsuvat stated many times that what happened was a plot. “When Fettullah Gülen couldn’t get the 50 million dollars he wanted from Aziz Yıldırım, he pressed the button to plot under the name of match-fixing.” On his statements, he testified in the football match-fixing conspiracy case.
He also acted as the lawyer of journalist Soner Yalçın in the Yarsuvat Odatv conspiracy case.

WHO IS DUYGUN YARSUVAT
After completing his secondary education at Galatasaray High School between 1948-1957, he graduated from Istanbul University Faculty of Law in 1961. In the same year, he was appointed as an assistant to Istanbul University Faculty of Law. He started his postgraduate studies at Istanbul University Faculty of Law, in 1964, Brussels Mass Media Institute in Belgium; He continued at Princeton University in America in 1966. He received the title of “doctor of law” in 1966 with his thesis titled “Freedom of Meetings and Demonstrations and Related Criminal Provisions”. In 1971, his thesis named “Traffic Criminology” was accepted by the committee unanimously and he became an “associate professor” at the same university. In 1978, his thesis titled “Working Criminal Law” was accepted by Istanbul University and he became a “professor”.
He completed his Master of Comparative Law at Columbia University in the USA in 1967. In 1978, he continued his work within the scope of the Geneva International Labor Organization in Switzerland.
Between 1987-1988 and 1996-1997, he was a member of the Turkish Penal Code Preparation Commission. Between 1988 and 1992, he was elected as a member of the Scientific Criminological Council in the Committee on Crime Problems of the Council of Europe and continued this duty for 4 years.
In addition to his academic activities, he worked as a lawyer at Yarsuvat Law Firm between 1965 and 1994, which has been registered with the Istanbul Bar Association since 1965. Since 1994, she has continued her practice as a lawyer at the Law Office named Duygun Yarsuvat & Ömür Yarsuvat.
As a faculty member at Yeditepe University, he taught criminal procedure and criminal law to undergraduate and graduate students at the Faculty of Law.
He has more than one scientific book, dozens of articles in Turkish, French and English.
He is married and has 3 children and 6 grandchildren.

In addition to his academic studies, administrative duties were also undertaken; Between 1983-1997, he served as a Senate Member of the Istanbul Faculty of Political Sciences and a Member of the Board of Directors.
1997 He transferred to Galatasaray University. He served as the Dean and Vice Rector of Galatasaray University Faculty of Law between 2001-2004. He was appointed as the rector of Galatasaray University in 2004, where Erdoğan Teziç was appointed as the head of the Higher Education Council for about a month, and continued this duty until 2008.
At the end of 2010, he was elected as the delegate of the Union of Turkish Bar Associations by the Istanbul Bar Association.
