The Super Cup final, which was planned to be played between last season’s Super League champion Galatasaray and the Turkish Cup winner Fenerbahçe, was canceled due to the events in Saudi Arabia, where the match was to be held.
Fenerbahçe published the application made to CİMER and the response received to fully investigate all processes regarding the cancellation of the Super Cup.
Here is the statement from Fenerbahçe;
“The Super Cup match, planned to be played between Galatasaray Sportif A.Ş. and Fenerbahçe Futbol A.Ş. on 29 December 2023, has been canceled as a result of the joint agreement between the participating teams and the Turkish Football Federation (TFF).
Following the announcement of the cancellation decision to the public by the TFF and the Clubs, many information containing manipulation regarding the ongoing processes were provided and unfounded slander and accusations were made against our President Ali Y. Koç.

Considering both the broadcasts, the news and comments written in visual media, and the shares made on social media, it is clearly seen that the focus of the issue is not the Super Cup final.
We have requested the relevant institutions of our state to investigate all the processes in detail, as TFF and other participating clubs were completely ignored and the responsibility for all the events was tried to be attributed to our President Ali Y. Koç.
Within the scope of these demands; To the Center for Combating Disinformation twice, on January 3, 2024 and on February 14, 2024,
To TFF on January 5, 2024,
An application was made to the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Turkey on February 14, 2024 and to the Presidential Communication Center (CİMER) on the same date.
To date, we have only received a response to our applications from CİMER, as can be seen below.
“Your application numbered 2400617193 to the TR Presidency Communication Center (CİMER) was answered on 16.02.2024*

As a result of the perception studies targeting both our Club and our President Ali Y. Koç, our determined stance on ending the information pollution created in the public will continue.
“We would like to inform the public that we will persistently follow up on our relevant applications.”
