The yellow-dark blue club made a written statement about the Super Cup match, which was planned to be played against Galatasaray, but was postponed to a later date due to some problems in the organization. In the statement made by the club, the following statements were made:
“There has been an obligation to provide a brief information about the Super Cup final match, which is planned to be played on December 29, 2023, and the agenda of the events that took place during this period.
First of all, we would like to state that we are very honored and happy to see our nation by our side throughout the entire process. We express our gratitude to everyone who gave us strength and support during this difficult process.
Our country, our Republic, our Great Leader Mustafa Kemal Atatürk and our nation are the superior values of Fenerbahçe, like all sports clubs of our country.
We keep these values above trophies, sporting competition, financial expectations, politics, in short, above everything else. The disruptions experienced before the Super Cup final occurred due to our sensitivity regarding our non-negotiable values, and there is no other reason or purpose beyond this.
We were surprised that the agenda created by the cancellation of the Super Cup final was later drawn into a fighting environment full of diplomacy, politics and conspiracy theories.
This agenda has nothing to do with foreign policy, politics or conspiracy theories.
It is our greatest wish to end the discussions that are being carried out in the wrong direction in public as soon as possible.
Reminding that sports should be away from politics; We invite everyone to act with common sense, without mixing sports and politics, without making sports a material for political competition.
We would especially like to point out that; The problems experienced in the organization of the Super Cup final match are not just about the demands of the two clubs not being accepted.
“Although the decision not to attend the match was taken by both clubs, we would like to inform the public that we will take legal steps against those who share unrealistic, speculative statements and messages, and make slander and false allegations, targeting only our Club and our managers.”
