Fencing. Renata-Knapik Miazga won the World Cup in Budapest

A fantastic result was recorded by Renata Knapik-Miazga in the Grand Prix of the World Cup held in Budapest. In the final, the AZS AWF Kraków fencing player defeated the Hungarian Anna Kun 11:10 in the extra minute.

The final fight was extremely fierce. The players hit at the same time. Finally Hungarian Anna Kun gained a minimum advantage of 7:5 in the second round. Renata Knapik-Miazga however, she quickly made up for the losses, it was 8: 8, and then she gained herself – 10: 8. Supported by fans, Kun led to a 10:10 draw with 9 seconds left. In the extra minute, however, it was the Polish woman who endured nervousness and she scored the decisive hit!

This is Knapik-Miazga’s life success when it comes to performances in the World Cup. He has individual bronze medals of the European Championships in 2013 and 2016, as well as team gold medals in the European Championships in 2019, silver in 2018 and bronze in the World Championships in 2017 and 2022. So far, Knapik-Miazgi’s best result in the World Cup was the 3rd place in Havana in 2020. At the same competition, her club friend Aleksandra Zamachowska (now Jarecka) won. Now Knapik-Miazga repeated her result.
