GLASGOW. Femke Bol, 24, does it again.

The Dutchman takes WC gold – and polishes his own world record.

– Fantastic, she says after the success.

The other week she lowered her indoor record from 49.26 to 49.24.

Tonight it was time again.

Sensation Femke Bol took home the WC gold in the 400 meters in superior style and crossed the finish line – in 49.17.

– What a race she runs! It doesn’t even look like she’s taking in. It looks like she’s jogging, says SVT’s expert Aljahi Jeng.

Total kross

Femke Bol was 99 hundredths ahead of compatriot and training partner Lieke Klaver, who took home the silver in 50.16.

Alexis Holmes, USA, took bronze in 50.24.

– My coach said I could run even faster, but honestly I just wanted to win. It was amazing. And so fun to be able to share this with Lieke, says Bol afterwards.

And then it should be said that her special distance is 400 hurdles.

There, the American Sydney McLaughlin is the only one to have run under 51 seconds and has a hard-to-beat world record of 50.68.

Femke Bol’s personal best is 51.45, but it will be lowered considerably this summer.

– I haven’t run hurdles for four weeks now, but this gives me a lot of confidence, she says.

Warholm cracked

In the men’s 400-meter final, we saw a favorite case when Norwegian superstar Karsten Warholm was beaten to the gold by Belgian Alexander Doom.

Doom passed Warholm on the run and won in 45.25.

Warholm was second in 45.34.

– It was too tough. I didn’t have an optimal charge before this championship. But but, silver is also good, says the Norwegian in SVT.

Rusheen McDonald, Jamaica, took bronze in 45.65.
