A 60-year-old man called police on Tuesday to inform them that he had just killed his partner.
The facts took place at the suspect’s home in Mont-Saint-Aignan, near Rouen, in Seine-Maritime.
When the police arrived at the home, the 46-year-old victim was lying on the ground and had stab wounds.
According to Paris-Normandie, the woman was unrecognizable: her face was also “swollen and lacerated”. The rest of his body also showed signs of laceration. She was reportedly punched or kicked.
The suspect in police custody
The suspect was taken into custody for spousal homicide.
The woman was placed under guardianship and the man, without a criminal record, “would have been interned in psychiatry at the Rouvray hospital at the beginning of the year,” said the prosecutor.
The forty-something had gone to her companion that very morning.
An autopsy should be performed this Wednesday morning.
