FEMDO brings four members of the Sinaloa cartel to trial

Mexico City. The Attorney General’s Office (FGR), through the Specialized Prosecutor’s Office for Organized Crime (FEMDO), obtained from a District Judge in Baja California, based in Tijuana, the linkage to proceedings against four alleged members of the Sinaloa Cartel who were arrested in operations carried out by the Attorney General’s Office (FGR) and personnel from the Mexican Navy-Navy Secretariat (Semar), for which they will be tried for their probable responsibility in the commission of organized crime and crimes against public health.

The defendants were identified as José “F”, Abraham “F”, Sergio “G” and Martín “N”, who were captured during searches carried out in seven properties located in Tijuana and Mexicali, Baja California, and Culiacán, Sinaloa.

In this action, an arrest warrant issued by a District Judge was served on them, because the four are related to drug trafficking in Mexico and to the United States.

At the initial hearing, the Federal Public Prosecutor’s Office provided “convincing evidence for the Federal Judge to order their connection to the process and justified preventive detention in the Federal Social Readaptation Center number 12, in Ocampo, Guanajuato.”
