Women over 13 years of age from the Gypsy or Rom population, indigenous people, NARP, victims of armed conflict and people with disabilities will benefit.
‘ICT Women for Change’, a digital project that seeks to train more than 10,000 women throughout the national territory, promoting their leadership and closing the digital gender gap in the country, will be launched this Wednesday by the Ministry of Information Technologies. The program is aimed at women over 13 years of age who seek to enhance their skills in entrepreneurship and productive development, through six online courses, which will have their respective certificate.
‘ICT Women for Change’ has three training axes: “digital literacy, support for entrepreneurship, and productive development and use of ICT for scientific and technological development,” explained the Vice Minister of Digital Transformation, Sindey Carolina Bernal.
He noted that “with this initiative, without a doubt, we will promote female leadership and empowerment in the country.”

Content creation, design thinking and community cyberjournalism are part of the study offerings offered by the program. In total there are six courses that have teaching material, including questionnaires, audiovisual material and bibliographic material.
With this program, Colombian women will learn to use technology to undertake business, access new job opportunities and improve their financial skills.
According to the Global Entrepreneurship Monitor (GEM), 31.3% of startups in Colombia are led by women. In the department of Chocó, according to figures from UN Women, there are about 450 entrepreneurs, 225 of which are in Quibdó.
