The former spokeswoman of the Special Intervention Brigade of the Gendarmerie, Andreea Cătălina Bumbac, was caught by the police when she had several sachets with a white powder in her bag, but she claimed that they were given to her by a friend, in order to keeps them, writes News.ro, citing Gândul.ro.
“We confirm the fact that on 19.11.2023, following a routine traffic control, police officers from Section 18 discovered on a female gendarme substances likely to be prohibited for possession. We mention the fact that this is part of the Special Intervention Brigade of the Gendarmerie. The case was taken over by BCCO representatives, in order to continue the investigations. We reaffirm, transparently, as we have done every time, our willingness to offer unconditional support to the institutions of the Romanian state and whenever we are asked for information that can elucidate such situations, we will make it available, under the regime urgently, all the requested data”, the representatives of the Romanian Gendarmerie sent.
They specified that, after the completion of the checks and the communication by the competent institutions, the necessary measures will be ordered in accordance with the legislation in force.
