The women in management positions in Bulgaria are increasing, although they remain fewer than men. In 2023, they are 68,000 – 3,200 more than the previous year. This is part of the data in the Report on equality of women and the men for 2023 which was considered today by the Govt.

The report shows that last year the employment rate for women aged 15-64 was 67.4%, and for men – 73.9%. There is also a difference in the average amount of the pension for length of service and age. For men, it was BGN 942, and for women – BGN 765. However, women received a pension for an average of 27.6 years, which is more than 7 years more than men.
In 2023, the average insurance income was BGN 1,445.55. For men, it was BGN 1,488.15 – 6.2% more than for women.
