It was such a vivid dream wasn’t it Slovak he got out of bed and had to go to the bathroom to rinse himself with cold water. “Karel has never come to me at night like this before. It was a complete revelation,” the brilliant musician who accompanied Slavík for almost 50 years is ecstatic. “However, unlike Karel, I never had any big ambitions, let alone the O2 arena. I’m not very, very sure of myself,” says Felix honestly.
Last of the Mohicans
But in his dream, Slavík drilled a nice bug into his head, because the saxophonist really started to think about the 02 arena. And perhaps he even made it his closest goal. “Yeah, that would be great. And I would like all my dear colleagues, children, to come out there with me, I would like to dedicate a block there to Karl and thus close our entire glorious era. After all, I am the last Mohican,” says Slováček, who comes from a party that included Karel Svoboda (†68), brothers Jiří (†30) and Ladislav (†75) Štaidlov and Karel Gott (†80).
Felix Slováček about Karl Svobod: We were always looking forward to him bringing a new gem
Found a producer
“I want to give the arena because of them,” Slováček, who is now a guest at the O2, decided to kneel down Marika Gombitová (67) and people are going crazy. But the biggest Czech hall is very expensive, a multi-million dollar splurge, and producers think very carefully about who they are willing to put their money into. Slovak, as you can see, is a guarantee of success. And producer Tomáš Ságl (50), who has to his credit O2 arenas with Jiří Korn (74) and Marika Gombitová or the sold-out Lucerny with Vojtěch Dyk (38) or the Spiritual Quintet, really decided to equip Slováček’s O2 arena.
A legend, a guarantee of success
“Felix and the O2 arena? I’ve been thinking about it for a long time, but he never wanted to hear about it. Slovak, that’s a guarantee of success. I don’t know a more popular, famous and legendary musician. People love him and I dare to play two O2 arenas with him in a row.” producer Ságl declares that the concerts should take place in honor of Slovácko’s 85th birthday, which will be in May 2028. “Which is coming soon. It will be a perfect mega-show with star guests, something Prague has never seen before,” Ságl smiles.
