Defender Félix Garreta, on loan this season from Betis to SD Amorebieta, of LaLiga Hypermotion, is in an induced coma in a hospital as a result of a head injury after suffering a domestic accident, of which no further details have emerged, when he was passing a few days in his town, Palau-solità i Plegamans (Barcelona).
Félix Martí Garreta, 20 years old, is in an induced coma in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) of a Catalan hospital, a situation that he overcame a few days ago, although he subsequently suffered a relapse and the coma was induced again.
The green-and-white centre-back, who also usually plays as a left-back, arrived at the Betis youth team in the 2020-2021 season from Damm in Barcelona and was promoted until he debuted last season with the first team, playing the full match against Athletic Club in Benito Villamarín, from matchday 15 of LaLiga EA Sports.
In addition, he also played four minutes in the 2022/2023 Copa del Rey third round match against CD Ibiza. The Barcelona defender was a regular in the Betis Deportivo eleven and participated with the Spanish under-19 team, along with Dani Pérez and Assane Diao, in the European Championship of this category, until last summer when he opted to go on loan to Amorebieta.
In the Biscay team he is the undisputed starter, having made 33 games (31 in the League in the Second Division) with four goals scored and one assist, and due to his good performance at the Amorebieta the idea of the Betic club is to hold the preseason this summer at orders from his coach, the Chilean Manuel Pellegrini.
