Felipe Pettinato was sentenced to nine months in suspended prison for simple sexual abuse to the detriment of a minor.
This was decided by Court No. 1 of San Isidro, which established that Pettinato remains free under a series of measures, including undergoing treatment and establishing residence.
“A guilty verdict is always restorative for the victim,” said Andrés Bonicalzi, the plaintiff’s lawyer, who had requested two years and six months in prison with effective compliance, as he left the hearing.
Prosecutor Matías López Vidal, for his part, had requested two years of suspended prison, while Pettinato’s defense had demanded acquittal due to the non-existence of the fact or that doubt be applied in favor of the accused.
Judge Andrés Mateo finally decided that an effective prison sentence was not appropriate since Pettinato has no criminal record. On the other hand, he valued positively that the accused is currently under treatment.
The complaint against Felipe Pettinato
The incident for which Pettinato was tried occurred in the early morning of March 8, 2018, when he was sleeping at the house of his then partner Sofía Colosante.
That morning, according to the complaint, filed in September 2019, Pettinatto got up and crossed paths with Sofía Colosante’s 15-year-old stepsister, whom he touched in her private parts over her clothes.
The case was investigated by prosecutor Lida Osores Soler, in charge of Vicente López’s Gender Violence Functional Instruction Unit.
The trial included the written testimony of the neurologist Melchor Rodrigo, who assisted Pettinato and died in May 2022 under strange circumstances when both were having dinner in an apartment in Belgrano: Pettinato managed to leave without any type of injury while Melchor was trapped. by the flames. For this fact, Petinatto is being prosecuted for arson followed by death.
