Felipe Melo raves in lecture at the Libertadores final

Midfielder Felipe Melo made a vibrant speech in the Palmeiras locker room before the final of the liberators. The veteran, one of the leaders of the cast alviverde, set fire to his teammates during the lecture for the 2-1 victory against Flamengo, which earned the club the third continental championship.

In a meeting with the players, Felipe Melo quoted a biblical passage and ranted to motivate his teammates before winning the third Libertadores do Palmeiras. See the video below.

Felipe Melo started the final between the reserves. He was called in by coach Abel Ferreira in overtime, when Palmeiras was already winning 2-1.

Palmeiras beat Flamengo in Montevideo, Uruguay, with goals from Raphael Veiga and Deyverson. Gabigol scored for Fla.

It was the second consecutive title of Palmeiras in the Libertadores — the third in history (1999, 2020 and 2021). Alviverde joined São Paulo, Santos and Guild among the Brazilian clubs that have the continental tri.
