FEFCI (Film Employees Federation of South India), an organization of technical workers in Tamil cinema, says that it is enough to cooperate only with Tamil actors in Tamil cinema. The organization has also issued some other suggestions, including that the shooting of Tamil films should be done only in Tamil Nadu. The organization leadership informs that disciplinary action will be taken if these are violated.
Another suggestion is that Tamil films should not be shot outside Tamil Nadu unless absolutely necessary. If the shooting is not completed on time or exceeds the previously fixed budget, the reason should be given in writing to the producers. If the director is the author of the story, he should take responsibility if there is a problem with the rights of the story.
At the same time, Kollywood, one of India’s largest film industries, also stars non-language stars. In the pan-Indian film market that grew after Baahubali, casting foreign language actors is even a marketing strategy. Malayalam actors have always been prominent in Tamil cinema. It still continues. And to fatten the frames, most of the Tamil superstar films also shoot in foreign countries. There is more criticism on social media about FEFCI’s new proposals.
