Barcelona boss Xavi Hernandez reportedly feels “cheated” by Ousmane Dembele about the player’s contractual situation and is starting to accept the fate of not being able to extend it.
Signed from Borussia Dortmund in 2017, the French striker’s contract expires at the end of this season, and negotiations between Barca and Dembele reportedly stalled.
Xavi was optimistic when asked about the 24-year-old’s future, he even claimed the player would accept a pay cut decision – but now the situation seems to have changed.

Given that Dembele has less than six months remaining on his contract, he can already discuss pre-contracts with other clubs outside of Spain and move on free of charge. In fact, Barca spent up to £ 105 million to buy it.
Xavi, who still believes in his abilities despite his frequent injuries and indiscipline, prioritized renewing Dembele’s contract when he was appointed Barcelona’s new manager.
However, now Diario AS reports that Xavi feels cheated and is starting to lose his temper because negotiations have not found a clear path.
Barca are also starting to accept that they will not find an agreement with the player’s agent, Moussa Sissoko.
Sissoko’s behavior is claimed to have irritated Xavi, because he demanded an unreasonable contract value and was toxic.
