The task of the European Central Bank is to manage the monetary policy of the Eurozone, the main objective of which is to ensure price stability and protect the purchasing power of the euro.
To achieve this, the bank controls the money supply and closely monitors price trends. Although it has no direct authority over member states’ fiscal policies, the European Central Bank works closely with the Eurogroup, which includes the eurozone’s finance ministers, to influence these policy processes.
